Admission

Enrollment is open throughout the year.  The minimum enrollment period for all programs is 4 weeks.  Students beyond the beginner level may begin on any Monday except the Special Summer & Holiday Programs.

Tuition charges are based on weeks of instruction.  The Financial Certificate is required for all applicants.  The application must be accompanied by certification that shows there is/are sufficient fund(s) available to meet both your living expenses and tuition expenses while studying at MLC.  Either one of the following is an acceptable form of certification: 1) An original letter from your bank in English, OR 2) Both a letter/affidavit of support from your parents or other source of support stating they will be responsible for your expenses during your stay at MLC, AND a bank statement (or bank letter, in English) verifying their financial ability to meet your expenses.

There is a non-refundable $135 I-20 application fee and $300 tuition deposit for students enrolling from abroad.  All application, financial certificate and fees should be submitted with the application.  Balance of tuition must be paid in full before class starts.

The application form is available from our local agents in your area or may be downloaded.  MLC accepts certified bank checks / traveler’s checks.

After MLC receives your application and proper fees, we will send you a package of acceptances information (including housing & traveling information)  and a Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20).  The Form I-20 is presented to a U.S. Embassy or Consulate when applying for a student (F-1) visa.

Arrival at MLC

After you arrive the U.S., you should report to school as soon as possible.  Our admission office is open 9am-6pm Monday through Friday.  You will need to bring your passport, visa, I-20 ID copy, I-94 (Arrival/Departure Record filled out on your flight to the U.S.), fees and the material contained in your acceptance package.

After report to school, all students will take a written and oral placement examination to determine their level of English language proficiency.  There is no extra charge for this assessment.

School is open seven days a week from 9am to 9pm Monday through Friday and from 9am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.  We offer morning, afternoon and evening three sections a day Monday through Thursday, morning and afternoon two sections a day Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  School closes on national holidays.

MLC English Course-20 lessons are scheduled everyday 4 lessons in class Monday through Friday. 

MLC Intensive English Course-30 lessons are scheduled everyday 4 lessons in class and 2 lessons in language lab Monday through Friday. 

MLC Super Intensive English Course-40 lessons are scheduled everyday 6 lessons in class and 2 lessons in language lab Monday through Friday.

Because MLC would like you to get the maximum benefit from your program, you will be expected to attend classes full-time.  If you have a total 20% unexcused absences from any combination of classes in any level course, you may fail the level unless you make up the work missed and are able to demonstrate mastery of the material covered.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

If you wish to cancel/withdraw the application because of sick or visa being denied or other reason 30 days before program starts, MLC will refund $200 overseas booking fee to you in 20 days after we receive the I-20 form returned from you.
